Davide Piras brings us fresh tunes from northern Italy - uncompromising, suspenseful, straight forward. Yet, his music always keeps the element of surprise. With ‘Discipline’ Piras creates another train that won’t stop: Moving subs and dark, evolving sounds paired with shaking percussions and an effective arrangement are all it takes to deliver a true quality stomper. ‘Surrender’ comes across with an oldschool breakbeat kind of vibe while maintaining a proper new school attitude. Deep and dark pads with subtle yet dominant sci-fi influences mark their territory with ease. ‘Surrender’ is another prime example of Piras being a master of leaving purposeful space in his tunes — something a lot of artists tend to struggle with. He doesn’t do conventional. And with his fresh and pure attitude, there is absolutely no need to, watch out for this man! As if that wasn’t enough, the MLR guys brought another heavy-weight into the play: Alongside the two originals sits a brilliant remix by none other than living legend DJ Honesty. He brings us a second interpretation of ‘Discipline’ perfectly underlining the key elements of the tune and packaging it into a bouncing house-twister. DJ Honesty takes off the edge with swinging Hi-hats without ever losing focus on the driving nature of the original.
